You’re going to L.O.V.E. this wedding. I know I do. This one holds a tiny extra piece of my heart because Evann has since become a dear friend.
Here is how the wedding went in Evann’s words!
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Oh wow… it’s so hard to choose just one. I would have to say walking down the aisle. I had already seen my husband during our first look (a very close second favorite) but when I was walking down the aisle my vision blurred and the only thing in focus was him. I couldn’t even hear any music playing- I was happy to be walking to say yes to the love of my life. It was a very euphoric feeling.
Any advice for future brides/grooms?
Enjoy every single second of your big day!!! It goes by sooo quickly and it’s so sad when it’s over. Super cliche to say but it’s true. Also, everything will work out the way it’s supposed to. I know it’s hard but do not stress about everything because it will all work out and even if it doesn’t it still will be the best day ever.
Funniest moment from your wedding day?
The party bus, for sure! We had so much fun with our bridal party partying before our wedding. Definitely a must do if you can squeeze it in somewhere.
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
I would have hired a wedding planner from the beginning but I still think it turned out pretty dang good for doing it all on our own.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Costa Rica
Tell us your proposal story!
My mom told me she was taking me to a fashion show so we needed to go get our nails done. About three hours before the “show” she told me the pipes busted in the event space and all of the clothes were ruined LOL so we couldn’t go. Ryan said “well why don’t we go try that new restaurant you’ve been dying to go to? I made reservations for 7, but let’s go on a boat ride at the lake first.” The lake is his families private lake that we go to every single weekend. It’s where Ryan and I first hung out and where he asked me to be his girlfriend. We took a few laps on the boat sharing a blanket and listening to music. Finally he said he was really cold and started to look through another blanket in the boat cubbies… which was odd because there are no blankets on the boat and never has been lol! I kept saying why don’t you use the one I have?! Then he turned around and has a box in his hand. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. I was soooo surprised I had absolutely no idea. Right after I said yes fireworks went off over the water. When we got to the shore our whole family was there waiting for us. They had been hiding the whole time and I had no idea! We then went on to get married at the lake, so needless to say, it really holds a special place in our hearts for many reasons.
Did anyone go above and beyond for your wedding day?
Yes!!! My whole family was so so helpful especially my mom, grandma, and aunt. They helped me plan majority of it and make sure everything was ready to go. Planning a wedding at your own venue with 250 guests is really hard without a planner. My husbands family was also there every night helping us set things up. One of my bridesmaids, Lydia, is an event planner and the week off the wedding seriously saved the day by becoming my day of planner. She teamed up with my new cousin Allison to make sure everything went smoothly the day off. Allison ran the show. My bridesmaid Marissa came in from out of state four days early to help us set everything up which was also super helpful. Also, Katy was SO helpful on our big day. We had some issues with the second shooter so Katy was there the whole day alone and she seriously KILLED it. I’m so glad we hired her because she made sure things ran smoothly literally all day long.
